For nearly 30 years Ovid-Elsie has been my home. Throughout that time, I have been a student, athlete, teacher, and now my latest role is that of a proud O-E parent!
I attended Central Michigan University where I earned a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Administration/School Principalship. For the past 13 years I have been employed by Ovid-Elsie Area Schools as a 5th grade teacher.
With regards to theory, I have learned a great deal from textbooks and course offerings. However, I truly feel that life has been my greatest learning experience. I am at a point where I'm beginning to understand what really matters most. I am extremely fortunate to have a loving and supportive family. When the worries of the world begin to take hold, I can always find solace by simply looking into my son or daughter's eyes. I have often said that becoming a parent has had a profound effect upon me as a teacher. Before I make any decisions regarding my students, I always stop and think what if that was my child?
One can enjoy a wood fire worthily only when he warms his thoughts by it as well as his hands and feet.
